Sherwin Williams products date from the 1860s, when ready- mixed paints first appeared in the American market. Early Garland newspaper ads confirm that S-W’s offerings were available from local hardware stores at least as early as the 1900s and under the same “Cover the Earth” logo as today. This image from the 1960s shows a paint-mixing operation in the company’s Garland plant on Miller Rd.
