The mid-1800s dogtrot or breezeway style house featured a covered passageway between its two rooms. Built in the S.E. quadrant of present Forest Lane and Greenville Ave., this one initially shared the Breckenridge post office with nearby Duck Creek, later joined with Embree to form Garland. W. A. Watson bought this place in 1875, perhaps from those pictured. His son, Garland’s R. C. Watson, spent his early life here.
