Roach Feed and Grocer Co., which evolved into Roach Feed & Seed, originally distributed from bulk stocks to small grocery stores within Garland’s trade area.  Roaches’ 1937 International delivery truck bore trademarks from Ralston-Purina, manufacturer of cereal feeds for both higher and lower animals.  Purina Chows were named after WWI soldiers’ slang term for food.
