Garland's new fire truck is shown ca 1917 resting sideways across parking spaces on the west of the square in front of Handley's Drug Store. Noticeably absent from the vicinity of its only truck were members of the Garland Volunteer Fire Department, who may have adjourned inside to Handley's soda fountain.
